Just Say Yes  Since having my astrological reading I have been inspired to bring the words and vision in my head to life. I literally started the day after my reading--I collaborated on my original logo and website design and art directed my photo shoot, something I’ve always wanted to do. The colorful pictures on my website are from that session, which was reposted on Instagram by Refinery 29 and fashion and textiles designer Trina Turk. I planned the shoot with a super talented photographer friend named Nina Tekwani who...

What is Big Magic? It’s that voice in the back of your head that wakes you up at 3 am, the wolfing hour, whispering to pursue that idea you had. It’s that song playing at exactly the right time and with just the right message. It’s bumping into someone unexpectedly at Whole Foods, bringing an opportunity you were hoping to find.  It is kismet. It is destiny. It’s written in the stars, and it’s also the name of Elizabeth Gilbert’s new book. I’m sure you heard of her international best...

I Forgot My Mantra  The phrase “I forgot my mantra” is from 1977 Best Picture winner and my favorite Woody Allen film, Annie Hall. Jeff Goldblum made a cameo appearance, giving this famous, solitary line. In my late 20’s, I watched Annie Hall for the first time and rewound Goldblum’s  scene over and over again. This brilliant bit depicts a man who is struggling to grasp the motions of a solution that’s eluding him. It resonated with me because it mirrored my life--desperately seeking more love and attention...

Welcome to My Rainbow: My life in words has a soundtrack,  if you have Spotify listen to it HERE.  Otherwise scroll down to play it. I grew up in a suburb outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and went to an all-girls Catholic school the entirety of my school age years. I was dying to go to college for one thing: BOYS. Let’s just say that I got around quite nicely at the University of Delaware, and I don’t mean in a car. I wish I could tell you I played...

From my City Weekly Column, Shop Girl. Hippie-chic shopping in Mexico I'm on vacation on the Right Coast, and my first stop is the Hamptons. This Long Island enclave is synonymous with New York City pretention a la Gwyneth Paltrow. From the first time I visited last year, I was hooked. Although I'm more of a Montauk kind of girl—I like the ruggedness of its beaches and the isolation of the community—I'll take East Hampton for a day of shopping. In the Hamptons, you can see Beyoncé riding her bike...
